Week 1 Recap

Made it through week one. There were a few point where I didn’t think I would make it, but I managed to talk myself into getting dressed and out of the door consistently.

The goals this week were:

  • hit 30 miles

  • run 6 out of 7 days

  • stay healthy

  • run slow & get through it

The final results show that

  • I ran 29.81 miles

  • I ran 6 days in the past week

  • I feel good despite some tightness in my Achilles

  • I kept the pace “moderate” for the most part

I’m looking forward to week #2. It’s amazing learning about yourself and applying those lessons to future weeks as well as other aspects of your life.

I’m learning to take my time through things and to be patient. I’m listening to my body and setting aside time for myself.

The hardest challenge I faced this week was getting enough sleep for recovery. Mapping out running 4 hours per week is a walk in the park compared to what’s to come as training persists.

Being committed to a goal is about being willing to sacrifice to achieve it. Sometimes it’s about asking for help…I’ll work on it.
